1923-24 La Moda card of Negro Leaguer, Edgar Wesley. Card is trimmed as most La Moda examples to surface are. The 1923-24 La Moda issue is a rare back variation of the 1923-24 Billiken set. When I say rare, here is what I mean: 1923-24 Billiken cards are tough in their own right, but there have been 462 of them graded to date. By comparison, there have a total of 3 La Modas graded. THREE! And two of them are trimmed exactly like this Wesley and are graded "Authentic." Only one 1923-24 La Moda card has ever received a number grade. No HOFers with La Moda backs have ever surfaced, so this card of Wesley, one of the top power hitters of his era, is one of the more desirable cards available with a La Moda back.
