1945-46 Felices (Caramelo Deportivo) #30 featuring Negro League HOFer, Ray Brown. This card has been graded a 3 (VG) by GAI. As it turns out, it's impossible to get a decent scan or photo of this card in this holder without there being a horrible glare from the inner sleeve thing GAI has used. But in spite of completely butchering the encapsulation of this card, they made up for it by making sure everyone who was involved in grading or approving the grade of this card was smoking crack when they looked at it. At least that's the only way I can explain the VG (3) grade. It's hard to believe GAI is no longer in business. If this card were to be cracked out and sent to SGC, it would probably be a 20 (Fair) which is a 1.5. If you were really lucky, maybe a 30. But it shouldn't be a 30. It's actually a pretty decent and clean example. Just not VG. It looks worse than in the scans, mostly because you can't really see it in the scans. Just think of it as a 20 and forget that GAI ever existed, just like the rest of the hobby has.
